ACTING PRINCIPAL

Name: Sandra Connor

Sandra starts at St Josephs in term three and is Acting Principal. SHe has worked at St Josephs before and is looking forward to working with al of the students, parents and wider school community.

Louise Andrews

Name: Louise Andrews Room 1
Year Level: Year 1

Louise has taught at St Josephs since 2006. She has taught at various levels in the school and is enjoying the challenge of New Entrants this year.

Kate Cox Name: Kate Cox Room 2
Year Level: Year 1 and 2

Kate has been at St Josephs sine 2009. She teachers a year 1 and 2 class and finds this age fun.

Name: Kelly Beals Room 3
Year Level: Year 2 and 3

Kelly returned to Hawkes Bay from overseas to teach at St Josephs. She is our Director of Religious Studies (DRS) so co-ordinates our Religion activities.


Kelly loves drama and has previously specialised in drama at secondary school level.

Geraldine started at St Jsoephs in June 2010. SHe has come to St Jsoephs from Auckland and works with 9 New Entrat students in Room 4.

"I am a Hutana from Tokomaru Bay with connections to the English trader Barnet Burns on Mum's side and Ihaia Hutana in Ngati Kahungunu on Dad's side. I enjoy teaching at St Joseph's School because of its very special character, reflected in whanaungatanga and visible examples of living with the head, heart and hands.

Name: Music Suite

This room is a dedicated music suite where all classes go on a regular basis. It has a variety of tuned and untuned instruments and is where our optional keyboard and guitar lessons take place.

Theresa Brady

Name: Theresa Brady  Room 7
Year Level 4 and 5

"Bonjour! (no I am not french) Kiwi through and through born and raised in Hawkes Bay coming from a large farm west of Hastings. I am excited about my second year at St Josephs and really enjoy the great children who are attending this school. I have taught in Ohakune for four years and have two high school children. I love the outdoors,  have extensively travelled through many overseas countries and attended Tenison College."

 

Therese Kinney

Name: Therese Kinney  Room 9
Year Level: 4 and 5

"I first got to know St Joseph's as a five years old (many, many, many years ago) and later went on to Tennyson College (the present St Joseph's site now covers both the old St Joseph's and the Tennyson College sites). I later became reacquainted with the school as a reliever, and, as I liked the family atmosphere, I also sent my children here. I began part time work here, which ultimately led to a full time job and I have mostly enjoyed my time here ever since."

Joy Doggett

Name: Joy Doggett  Room 10
Year Level: 7 and 8

Hello. I am from the Hawkes Bay - born in Hastings, raised in Napier and now living back in Hastings with my husband and family. I taught for 11 years at Heretaunga Intermediate and have been at St Jos for a year. I am Assistant Principal and run the middle and senior school where I enjoy working with the students.

Anthony Easson

Name: Anthony Easson  Room 11
Year Level: Year 6 and 7


Hi I am Anthony and I have returned to St Josephs after spending 9 months travelling around the world. This year I will be taking the year 6 and 7 class in Rm 11. I am a Southland man through and through and love the fact that the STAGS have the Ranfurly Shield. My favourite place on my travels was Egypt followed by the USA. I am really looking forward to 2010.



SUPPORT STAFF

Name: Christine Oliver
Job: Teacher Aide, Librarian
Rooms you work in: School wide, mostly junior rooms

"I have been at St Joseph’s for 16 years. My role has been with our special needs programmes, catering for the student’s who need support in their learning. My job is both challenging and rewarding and I enjoy the caring supportive atmosphere between staff and students."


Name: Christine Maloney
Job: School Secretary

"My adult association with the St Joseph’s School family spans 24 years-firstly as a parent and then 19 years as School Secretary. I consider it a great privilege to walk just a few short steps on life’s journey with the children entrusted to our care, and their families."


Name: Keri Walton-Sexton

Keri works as a teacher aide at St Josephs. She works to assist the junior reading programme in Room 2 and also supports children with special needs across the school.

Keri also teaches in our food technology room. She takes each class (on a rotational basis) into the specialised kitchen/classroom and teaches them about food safety, the importance of hygiene and basic cooking and food preparation.

 


Name: Dianne Liddell

Job: Teacher Aide

Dianne works to support with student with special needs.  She provides support to the student and class teacher.


Name: Lisa Jones

Job: Teacher Aide

Lisa works in a variety of classes and students throughout the school. She assists teachers and also works with individual students.
